Licensing, code ownership and intellectual property rights
Certification (possibly by a third party) of the quality and accuracy of the work done;
Escrow arrangements (particularly for the source code) in the event of the developer’s financial failure;
Rights of access for audit of the quality and accuracy of the work;
Contractual requirements for code quality;
Pre-installation testing for Trojan and other malicious code; and
Delivery dates, change management control and budgetary control.
